For the Sample Environment group at the Neutron and Muon Instrumentation Laboratory, we are looking for a Your tasks Are you looking for the daily challenge of utilizing your technical expertise in a creative, dynamic, and international work environment? As a collaborator in the Sample Environment group, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of control software for complex experimental devices using the Python Frappy framework and utilizing the "Sample Environment Communication Protocol" (SECoP) at the Swiss neutron source SINQ. You enjoy designing, developing, and assembling experimental devices and electronic components, and you consider performing rapid modifications and repairs under pressure as a positive challenge. You are enthusiastic about participating in technical and scientific projects as well as interacting with international project partners. Your profile You are an electrical engineer graduated from a university of applied sciences or you possess an equivalent or higher degree. You work with precision and rigor and are motivated to commit yourself to an international team. You possess technical skill and experience in the field of measurement and control, low-level programming, Python programming, as well as electronics. You know how to read and create electrical diagrams. You do not hesitate to also perform simple tasks, such as basic soldering operations or conducting series of measurements. Experience in the field of cryotechnology and vacuum technology as well as proficiency in CAD software is an advantage, as is experience in Linux system administration. You are ready to delve into new specialized areas and open to taking on new tasks in a dynamic field of activity. You are proficient in English, both written and spoken.
