Company Description
Nexthink is the leader in employee digital experience management (DEX) software. The
company offers IT managers unprecedented visibility, allowing them to see, diagnose, and
resolve large-scale problems affecting employees everywhere, with any application or network, before
employees notice the problem. As the first solution enabling IT to move from
reactive troubleshooting to proactive optimization, Nexthink enables its more than 1,300 customers
to provide better digital experiences to more than 25 million employees. With headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, and Boston, Massachusetts, Nexthink has 9 offices
around the world.
With more than 20 years of product innovation, we are now in the most exciting chapter of our journey: becoming an AI-native company. The architectural decisions made right now will define the next decade of Nexthink. That is where you come in.
Job Description
We are looking for a Chief Architect to lead the architectural direction of the Nexthink platform. This is a hands-on and highly influential role, reporting directly to the CTO, and responsible for defining the vision, driving technical decisions, and shaping how AI, cloud, and data architecture integrate into the product.
You will lead a team of six senior architects spread across Europe and work closely with engineering, product, and executive leadership teams to define the evolution of the Nexthink platform. Your technical depth, clear communication, and ability to gain trust within a strong and tenacious engineering organization will ensure your success.
If you are the type of architect who wants to be close to the work, have a clear point of view, and build something that truly matters, this position is for you.
What you will do:
Define and drive the Nexthink architectural roadmap, setting the direction for scale, resilience, AI integration, and platform evolution
Be a hands-on contributor: personally take ownership of specific architectural domains and lead them through to production
Work closely with product and engineering leaders to align architectural decisions with the product roadmap and business objectives
Build a cohesive and high-performing architecture team from a strong group of senior individual contributors, creating shared practices, architectural forums, and a culture of technical excellence
Clearly communicate the architectural vision to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the CEO and CPO
Evaluate emerging technologies, particularly AI and machine learning infrastructure, and make principled decisions on what should be integrated into the platform and when
Serve as a technical authority within the organization, advising engineering teams on design decisions, patterns, and trade-offs
Qualifications
Experience & background
More than 10 years of hands-on experience in software architecture in product-based engineering environments
A proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, high-performance, cloud-native platforms in production
Deep expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, distributed systems, and high-volume data pipelines. AWS, Azure, or GCP experience is desirable, but we value depth of thought over specific cloud technology
Significant exposure to AI and Machine Learning over the past two years, whether through building, integrating, or actively defining architectural direction
Experience in SaaS or high-growth product companies with a solid understanding of what it means to deliver, scale, and iterate under real constraints
Experience at a Director, Senior Director, VP level or as a Staff/Principal Architect with an equivalent scope
How you work
You are fluent in both technical and business language, able to dive deep into architecture in one conversation and discuss business impact in the next
A leader who influences through credibility rather than authority, gaining trust by engaging in details and communicating clearly
Comfortable with ambiguity and transformation, recognizing that Nexthink is evolving, and that this role helps define its destination
Naturally hands-on, enjoying solving the most difficult architectural problems and not settling for just delegating them
Intentional in building strong relationships with your team, your engineering and product peers, and with leadership
This position is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. We are looking for someone who is already local or truly committed to relocating. Nexthink offers relocation support and has a strong presence in the Lausanne region. We have welcomed people from Zurich, all of Switzerland, and the wider Europe, and we are happy to discuss this openly.
