Job Description
Within Nexthink's Engineering department, the team you will be joining contributes to building what we call Collectors: endpoint agents that run on millions of employees' systems worldwide. The Collector gathers meaningful data at the OS level, aggregates it on the device, and transmits it to our cloud analytics platform. They also help remediate detected issues and improve the user experience on their devices. Collectors are a complex and critical part of Nexthink's products, running on Windows and macOS.
You will take on broad and unconventional problems with the autonomy to shape and own them - and your ideas can reach millions of devices worldwide. We maintain a high level of quality, performance, and security, and give engineers the freedom to deliver and grow.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and evolve Nexthink's Collector agents running on millions of Windows and macOS devices worldwide.
• Develop modern, reliable, and high-performance C++ software, close to the OS, where efficiency, stability, and quality matter directly.
• Own impactful end-to-end features - from product requirements to production deployment, through observability and measurable impact.
• Take on complex multi-platform challenges in real-world environments, investigating deep OS-level issues across diverse client fleets.
• Continuously raise the bar for performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of our Collectors, contributing to shaping technology that operates at a global endpoint scale.
Qualifications
More than 5 years of software development experience.
Mastery of C++ 20/23.
Demonstrable solid understanding of OS internals.
Experience with OS-level software development and research on Windows and/or macOS.
Proven experience of owning an end-to-end feature, from product requirements to delivered solution.
Understanding of clean, light, and well-testable code concepts.
Ability to navigate and debug complex code.
Ability to create tools supporting the development process.
Skill or practical experience with AI-based agent coding tools.
Product-oriented mindset and ease of working in a dynamic environment.
Clear and concise communication in English.
Assets
Experience with kernel-mode software development.
Experience with multi-platform development: Windows and macOS.
