Senior Application Engineer (Integration & Automation)

• IT - Software Engineering • Bern • Contracting • Part-time, 80-100% • 20.07.2026 - 31.12.2027 (with option to extend) • API (Application Programming Interface), Automation, Application Engineering Your tasks: • Carrying out technical feasibility analyses for the automation of service and support processes • Definition, design and further development of modern target architectures for system integrations • Development and implementation of interfaces (APIs) as well as event-based integrations (e.g. Kafka) • Concept and implementation of end-to-end automations along complex business processes • Use and further development of innovative AI and Agentic-AI solutions for process automation • Building prototypes and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) in the area of AI-supported automation • Integration and further development of existing platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics or ServiceNow • Ensuring robust, scalable and maintainable integration and automation solutions • Definition, documentation and establishment of architecture and integration standards • Technical implementation of integrations to central systems such as ServiceNow, SAP, Omada or Luware • Active support and empowerment of engineers through coaching, pairing and knowledge transfer Your profile: • Several years of experience as Application Engineer, Integration Engineer or Solution Architect in complex system landscapes • In-depth knowledge of modern integration approaches such as API-First, Event-Driven Architecture and Microservices • Proven practical experience in the development and implementation of APIs and integration solutions • Experience in the conception and implementation of end-to-end automations • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Power Automate, Dynamics, Copilot Studio or Azure Services is an advantage • Knowledge of ServiceNow and its integration into existing system landscapes is an advantage • Pronounced hands-on mentality combined with a strong architectural understanding • Ability to convey complex technical facts in a comprehensible manner and to coach other engineers • Independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working • Negotiation-secure German language skills are mandatory, as well as good English language skills are an advantage
