Senior Software Engineer / Technical Lead Python

• IT - Software Engineering • Bern • Contracting • Full-time • 01.09.2026 - 31.08.2027 with option for extension • Python, Git, CI/CD Your tasks: • Technical leadership of an agile development team without disciplinary responsibility • Development of modern and high-performance backend solutions with Python, FastAPI and FastStream • Conception and implementation of cloud-native microservice and event-driven architectures • Development and integration of event-driven applications with Apache Kafka • Co-design and continuous further development of the software and target architecture • Design and development of REST-APIs as well as implementation of modern API management concepts • Carrying out code reviews and ensuring high quality and development standards • Establishment of best practices in the areas of Clean Code, Clean Architecture, testing and software quality • Coaching and mentoring of developers as well as promoting technical knowledge exchange within the team • Deployment and operation of containerized applications on Kubernetes and OpenShift • Further development of CI/CD pipelines and support of modern DevOps processes • Close cooperation with Product Owners, system architects and adjacent development teams   Your profile: • At least eight years of professional experience in professional software development • Several years of experience as a Senior Software Developer, Technical Lead or Lead Engineer • Excellent knowledge of Python and modern Python frameworks, especially FastAPI • Practical experience with FastStream as well as Event-Driven Architecture • Sound experience in the development and operation of microservices • Very good knowledge of Apache Kafka as well as in the design and development of REST-APIs • Several years of practical experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift • Sound know-how in software architecture, Clean Architecture, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design and test automation • Demonstrable experience with code reviews, technical architecture decisions and the establishment of development standards • Very good knowledge of Git as well as modern CI/CD and DevOps processes • Experience with agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban • Ideally experience in the telecommunications environment as well as with OSS/BSS, network management, provisioning or service orchestration • Knowledge in Observability, DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code with technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Terraform or Ansible is an advantage • Strong technical leadership competence, initiative and a high sense of quality and responsibility • Very good German skills as well as good English skills
