Senior Software Engineer Lab Automation

You develop software and hardware integrations for automated laboratory processes in drug discovery. In doing so, you combine orchestration systems, instrument control, and data management into an end-to-end laboratory platform.

Tasks

• Design, programming, and troubleshooting of high-throughput laboratory workflows
• Construction of orchestration systems, hardware abstraction layers, and device drivers
• Implementation of logging, metrics, and alerts for error detection in hardware and software
• Construction of a digital representation of the laboratory including sample identity and device status
• Connection of instruments via APIs as well as integration with LIMS and ELN
• Responsibility for hardware requirements, site specifications, and work-cell integration

Profile

• 5+ years of experience in software development and hardware integration
• Experience with commercial liquid-handling or laboratory automation platforms
• Sound knowledge in C# or Python
• Knowledge in molecular biology, biochemistry, or wet-lab workflows is an advantage
• Experience with prototyping, CNC milling, laser cutting, and CAD
• Experience with APIs and SDKs for complex laboratory software ecosystems
