What you can contribute

• Design applications, work tools and databases, develop them and ensure their maintenance
• Develop, adapt and optimize digital work tools in collaboration with different specialized fields
• Guarantee the quality, availability and maintenance possibilities of the solutions used
• Perform regression tests and other testing procedures
• Carry out additional technical tasks and contribute to other projects if necessary

What makes you unique

• Degree from a higher education institution in computer science or electrical engineering
• Several years of experience in software development
• Mastery of at least one modern programming language, proficiency in Linux or UNIX system environments
• Solid understanding of databases, interfaces and web applications
• Current use of version control systems, automated testing and structured development processes
• Good active knowledge in a second official language, ability to express oneself in English in a professional context

The commandement de l'Instruction (cdmt Instr) is responsible for instruction within the Swiss Army -- from recruitment to the training of cadre for the militia and career soldiers, including general basic instruction. The cdmt Instr includes Higher Cadre Training, Army Personnel, five application training centers, the Army Instruction Center as well as the specialized service Women in the Army and diversity. One third of the approximately 2350 employees practice civilian professions in scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative or sporting fields and, along with career soldiers, contribute to the success of the army.

The Swiss Army employs more than 9000 employees in four military professions and approximately 200 civilian professions, across 110 sites throughout Switzerland. It also ensures succession by training apprentices in more than 30 trades.
