Apprenticeship 2027: IT Specialist EFZ Application Development

As a 100% subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik, our employees are responsible for the product AMOS (Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering System), which is used by over 230 well-known airlines worldwide for the maintenance of modern aircraft fleets.

The profession of IT specialist in application development has advanced to become one of the most important in today's digital world. From August 2027, we are offering an apprenticeship as IT Specialist EFZ specializing in Application Development (4 years) and are looking for a team player like you!

The content of the apprenticeship

The specialization in application development is aimed at everyone who likes to develop and program software solutions. Together with your team, you are responsible for the careful analysis of customer needs. With carefully prepared tests, you ensure smooth application and independently create the required documentation. In your daily work, you will also gain a broad insight into the diversity of the profession and, among other things, deal with security issues.

Your training

The apprenticeship lasts four years and is completed with the Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (eidgenössisches Fähigkeitszeugnis). The practical training takes place at our company and is supplemented by introductory courses. Throughout the entire training period, you will attend the Gewerblich-Industrielle Berufsschule. The teaching includes a modularly structured IT education, general education subjects, and a well-developed range of elective subjects.

You are interested in the Federal Vocational Baccalaureate (Berufsmatura)

At Swiss-AS, you also have the opportunity to attend the vocational baccalaureate school and obtain the Berufsmatura. After your apprenticeship, this entitles you to admission to a university of applied sciences without an entrance examination.

Prerequisites

• Completed compulsory school, upper level (Sek P, E)
• Interest in IT as well as the aviation industry
• Interest and good performance in mathematics, in the natural science subjects, as well as German and English
• Fulfillment of the conditions for examination-free admission to the apprenticeship-accompanying vocational baccalaureate - BMS (https://www.berufsmaturbb.ch/home/berufsmaturitaet-bm1/zulassung.htm)
