Shape your future-- together with us!

Every success story begins with believing in oneself.-
-
As AXA, we see ourselves as a partner who stands by your side and believes in you. Therefore, we challenge and support you and proactively show you opportunities for your future. We encourage you and offer you freedom so that you can connect the things that are important to you. Together with your commitment and your individual contribution, this becomes a future-oriented partnership. For you, for us and for our customers. And not just for the moment. But in the long term.-

At AXA, a culture awaits you in which you can fully develop your strengths. We value critical impulses and innovative contributions, regardless of which hierarchical level they come from. Therefore, write your own success story with us now.-Know-You-Can.

In the Data, Technology & Innovation area, around 600 software and system developers work throughout Switzerland and develop the technology of tomorrow in-house. In doing so, we also collaborate in global teams and networks.
We shape and integrate the latest tools, organize hackathons and our agile product teams run self-organized and are independently responsible from A to Z.

What awaits you

  • You share responsibility for the overall system between AI-based underwriting solutions (Agentic Offering, UW Workbench, Automation Tasks), price & discount control (Pricing Engine) and Core IT - from architecture to productive operation
  • You actively shape and develop the interfaces and integrations between these systems - with the ambition to create a robust, scalable and maintainable ecosystem that delivers measurable added value to the P&C business
  • You work closely with Data Scientists, actuaries, AI Engineers and business stakeholders from underwriting and pricing - you translate between the technical and specialist worlds and transform complex requirements into working solutions
  • As a Lead, you are a sparring partner, an impulse provider and the technical conscience of the team: You establish best practices, accompany code reviews and actively contribute to the further development of the shared engineering culture
  • You follow relevant developments in the field of software engineering, cloud and AI, evaluate them critically and make them usable for your team and your stakeholders - as a thought leader with down-to-earth qualities
  • You move deliberately in the tension between innovation and stability: You question assumptions, bring in new ideas and have the courage to ask uncomfortable questions - because the best solutions are created here

What you bring with you

  • You bring several years of experience as a software engineer or AI engineer - and a clear track record in designing, integrating and operationally running complex, distributed systems
  • You are familiar with the development and operation of backend applications in Python (e.g. FastAPI, Flask) and know how to cleanly combine APIs, data pipelines and AI components
  • You think in overall architectures: You design system landscapes beyond individual components and always make decisions while taking latency, cost, security and maintainability into account
  • Cloud-native concepts, containerization (Docker / Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD are a permanent part of your toolbox - experience with GCP (especially Vertex AI & Cloud Run) is a clear plus
  • You are "opinionated" regarding software design principles and technology use - without losing sight of pragmatism in implementation
  • You understand insurance products and processes - or you are eager to understand them. Knowledge in the P&C business, in underwriting or in pricing is a real plus, because the best integration solutions arise where domain knowledge meets engineering
  • You speak fluent German and English
