• Take care of the design, further development and maintenance of the efficiency of applications, work tools and databases
• Develop projects in the field of work tools in an interdisciplinary context
• Calibrate, create and rework simulation models
• Guarantee the quality, maintainability and availability of the solutions used

• Guarantee technical support during simulation exercises

What distinguishes you

• University degree in computer science or electronic engineering
• Several years of experience in software development
• Proficiency with at least one modern programming language and with Linux or UNIX system environments
• In-depth knowledge in the field of databases, interfaces and web applications
• Regular use of version control systems, regular performance of automated tests and adoption of structured development processes
• Good active knowledge of two official languages; negotiation skills in English

The Instruction Command (Cdo Istr) is responsible for instruction within the Swiss Army -- from recruitment to general basic instruction to officer instruction -- regarding both militia and professional soldiers. It includes Higher Officer Instruction, Army Personnel, five training formations, the Instruction Center and the specialized Women in the Army and diversity Service. A third of the approximately 2350 employees is active in civilian professions in scientific, technical, medical, psychological, administrative or sporting fields and contributes to success alongside professional soldiers.

The Swiss Army employs over 9000 employees within the framework of four military professions and approximately 200 civilian professions, in 110 locations throughout the national territory. Furthermore, it provides for new recruits, training apprentices in over 30 professions.
