Head of Software Development

You will lead a software organization of around 30 specialists and be responsible for the software strategy and architecture for near-hardware precision instruments.

Tasks

• Leadership and further development of a software organization of around 30 specialists
• Leadership of team leaders, architects, and software engineers
• Definition and implementation of the software strategy across embedded, Linux, PC, and service software
• Further development of the Linux/Debian platform for future products
• Driving CI/CD, test automation, and release processes
• Definition of the AI strategy for software development as well as cybersecurity and CRA initiatives
• Collaboration with product management, hardware development, service, and quality

Profile

• University degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, or comparable
• Extensive experience in software development for complex, hardware-integrated products
• Experience in defining software architecture and platform strategies across multiple product lines
• Several years of leadership experience in software development, ideally with leadership of managers
• Sound practical experience with C/C++, C#, and Linux-based embedded systems, preferably Debian
• Fluent German and English in spoken and written form
