We are looking for a Software Systems Engineer to help build and operate web security capabilities at the heart of our global platform. Your mission

As a Software Systems Engineer specializing in Web Security, you will help design, develop, and operate web security services deployed globally, protecting organizations in more than 180 countries.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering, systems engineering, networking, and cybersecurity, contributing to the entire product lifecycle, from architecture and design to development, deployment, operation, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

• * Develop and maintain software components for web security services.
• * Improve monitoring, troubleshooting, and observability of our web security services.
• * Investigate technical issues in development and production environments.
• * Collaborate with engineers from the network, security, cloud, and platform teams.
• * Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• As part of your engineering journey, you will become certified as a Mission Control Engineer, gaining hands-on experience operating a wide range of network and security technologies.

This also includes the possibility of joining our Network Operations Center in Honolulu, Hawaii for three-month missions, working alongside engineers who operate our global security infrastructure.

What you bring

Requirements

• * Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• * Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP, and HTTPS.
• * Experience with Linux/UNIX-based systems.
• * Programming experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, C++).
• * Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• * Proficiency in English.

• * Knowledge of network security principles and best practices.
• * Experience with cloud-native and containerized environments.
• * Experience with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
