Senior Software Engineer C++ (Agent Endpoint, Operating System Internals)

Within the Engineering department of Nexthink, the team you will join participates in the construction of what we call Collectors: the endpoint agents that run on the systems of millions of employees worldwide. The Collector collects meaningful data at the operating system level, aggregates it on the device, and sends it to our cloud analytics platform. They also help fix detected problems and improve the user experience of devices. Collectors are a complex and critical part of Nexthink products, running on Windows and macOS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve Nexthink's Collector endpoint agents running on millions of Windows and macOS devices worldwide.
• Develop reliable and high-performance modern C++ software close to the operating system, where efficiency, stability, and quality matter directly.
• Own impactful features end-to-end — from product requirements to production deployment, observability, and measurable impact.
• Tackle complex multi-platform challenges in real-world environments, investigating deep operating system-level issues across diverse customer fleets.
• Continually raise the standard of performance, reliability, security, and maintainability of our Collectors, helping to shape technology that works at global endpoint scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Mastery of C++ 20/23.
• Strong and demonstrated understanding of operating system internals.
• Experience in operating system-level software development and research on Windows and/or macOS.
• Proven experience driving a feature end-to-end, from product requirements to the delivered solution.
• Understanding of pure, clean, and easily testable code concepts.
• Ability to navigate and debug complex code.
• Ability to build tools that support the development process.
• Proficiency or practical experience with agentic AI coding tools.
• A product-oriented mindset and comfort in a dynamic environment.
• Clear and concise communication in English.
• Software development experience in kernel mode.
• Multi-platform development experience: Windows and macOS.
