Tasks ##

• Develop and maintain robust firmware for ARM microcontrollers.
• Create reusable software libraries and communication interfaces.
• Ensure reliable integration between electronics and automation systems.

Skills ##

• Degree in Mechatronik, Robotik or equivalent field, 5 years of experience.
• Excellent skills in C/C++ and Embedded Linux.
• Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.
• Development, programming, testing and maintenance of modular and robust firmware for ARM microcontrollers in industrial automation and mechatronic systems
• Development and maintenance of reusable firmware and software libraries as well as industrial communication interfaces, notably OPC UA, Modbus RTU/TCP, CANopen and Ethernet TCP/IP
• Ensure reliable communication and integration between electronics, microcontrollers and higher-level automation systems
• Planning and execution of verification, system testing and simulation-based validation as well as development of automated test solutions
• Analysis of measurement and production data, conducting experiments and preparing results for targeted error analysis and system optimization
• Support the development of prototypes, hardware commissioning, low-level debugging and transition of prototypes to mass production
• Technical support and continuous development of existing products throughout the product life cycle
• Participation in hardware development, schematic design, component selection and system architecture
• Responsibility for the application of the Renesas Synergy Software Package (SSP)
• Close collaboration with software, hardware and product management teams as well as active participation in architecture and code reviews
• Technology watch and identification of innovation potentials for the development of future-oriented solutions
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation, requirement specifications as well as test and implementation documents
• Ensure compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, notably the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
• University degree (Bachelor or Master) in mechatronics, robotics, electrical engineering or a comparable field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the development and testing of embedded firmware/software and hardware
• Very good knowledge of C/C++ for real-time ARM microcontrollers as well as practical experience with Embedded Linux platforms, e.g. Yocto
• In-depth experience with industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, CANopen, Ethernet TCP/IP and Modbus RTU/TCP
• Experience with Git and Azure DevOps as well as a good understanding of modern software development and version management processes
• Experience in test automation and data analysis, ideally with Python
• Good knowledge of network analysis and troubleshooting, notably with Wireshark and serial console tools
• Experience with technical documentation, requirement specifications as well as FAT/SAT and IQ/OQ test protocols
• Knowledge of process control systems, data acquisition and sensor integration, ideally in the biotechnology field
• Knowledge of relevant standards and directives such as EMC, low voltage and machinery directive as well as GxP, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is an advantage
• Passion for innovation and openness to new technologies
• Very good English skills, oral and written, as well as German knowledge at least at level B1
