Haag-Streit Simulation is a pioneer in the development of virtual reality simulators for medical training. Ophthalmologists and medical students worldwide train their diagnostic and surgical skills on high-end simulators from Haag-Streit Simulation - without burden or risk to a patient. The company belongs to the Swiss Haag-Streit Group. At the company location in Mannheim, approx. 100 employees work today.

Your challenge ##

• You develop realistic 3D computer graphics components for our devices. Doctors (m/f/d) learn to correctly recognize subtle visual signals and react appropriately using your developments on the simulator.
• You work on real-time rendering techniques, such as ray tracing and volume rendering, and develop custom shaders, e.g., for dynamic light and shadow effects, HDR, surface structures, refraction, reflection, or depth of field.
• You are responsible for the maintenance and further development of our existing Vulkan- and OpenGL-based render engines.
• In close cooperation with our graphic designers (m/f/d), you participate in asset creation.
• You support simulation development with adequate graphical models, GPU porting, common data structures and, if necessary, graphics-related simulation algorithms.

Your profile ##

• You have a university degree in computer science or comparable knowledge.
• You have very good knowledge of C++.
• You have extensive experience in programming with Vulkan, OpenGL or optionally Direct3D.
• Know-how in animation and simulation development (e.g., rigging, particle models) is an advantage.
• You have very good mathematical knowledge, especially in vector algebra.
• A goal-oriented, analytical and creative approach, even with unusual questions, characterizes you.
• You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary, communicative team.
